Privacy

Backroad Boondocking is a one-person project, and this privacy note is written in that spirit: plain.

Newsletter

If you sign up, your email address goes to Kit, the email service that sends the field notes. It’s used only for that. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email.

Contact form

Your name, email, and message are used only to reply to you. They’re not shared, sold, or added to any list.

Everything else

No visitor accounts, no ads, no selling data to anyone. The site counts a field note read once per browser tab session and records when someone opens an embedded video. Those counts do not store your name, email address, or IP address. This browser uses a small storage flag to avoid counting the site owner’s visits. Embedded videos are provided by YouTube or Vimeo, whose own privacy practices apply when you press Play. The hosting service also keeps ordinary server logs.
