My philosophy

How I share places

I don’t believe public land should be treated like a private secret.

No secret coordinates

If I share a place, I want to give people a real way to understand how they might experience it too. That means sharing useful details about the roads, access, conditions, and planning involved, not just posting a photo and leaving people to guess how to find it.

I don’t believe in gatekeeping public land. Public land is intended to be enjoyed by all.

That does not mean every post needs an exact pin with no context. It means being helpful and clear enough that someone willing to do a little research can make their own plan.

The goal is not to send everyone to my exact campsite. It is to help people with the tools to find their own.

Share places carefully

Places deserve respect. Some have difficult access, seasonal closures, private-property boundaries, poor roads, or conditions that can turn a casual plan into a bad day. Those details matter, and I’ll include them when I know them.

The point is to help people arrive prepared, treat the place well, and leave it better than they found it.

Learn the process

I’ll share places I think are worth knowing about. I also want to show the process behind finding them when I can.

Learn to read maps. Check road and weather conditions. Understand boundaries. Look beyond the first result. A good destination is useful. Knowing how to find the next one is even better.
